It's been a long time coming, and now it's here. Staff at the Columbia-Greene Humane Society moved into their new building yesterday on Humane Society Rd in Claverack. The new building sits on the same property as the old building, but is much larger and offers expanded services to Columbia and Greene counties. This is an exciting achievement for the staff, the CGHS Board, the Town of Claverack, and the greater Columbia-Greene community. The new facility cost nearly $2 Million and is being paid for in large part by donations. To learn more about the new facility and services being offered, or to make a much needed donation, please visit the Columbia-Greene Humane Society's website. The temperature is plummeting outdoors causing flash freeze conditions. Freezing rain is beginning to accumulate on trees and surfaces around town. This, coupled with very gusty winds overnight, may result in scattered power outages. The freezing rain is expected to change to snow late tonight. Conditions are already going down hill. If you don't have to be out on the roads, please stay at home. We're working to update the town website. Meeting minutes for the Town Board and Town Planning Board are now current. Other updates have been made as well. Work continues. Stop by www.townofclaverack.com and have a look. Let us know what features/information you'd like to see added. |
