It's been a long time coming, and now it's here. Staff at the Columbia-Greene Humane Society moved into their new building yesterday on Humane Society Rd in Claverack. The new building sits on the same property as the old building, but is much larger and offers expanded services to Columbia and Greene counties. This is an exciting achievement for the staff, the CGHS Board, the Town of Claverack, and the greater Columbia-Greene community. The new facility cost nearly $2 Million and is being paid for in large part by donations. To learn more about the new facility and services being offered, or to make a much needed donation, please visit the Columbia-Greene Humane Society's website. A wonderful accomplishment, much needed for quite awhile, The animals are well cared for and have been under crowded conditions, etc. I have a beautiful Maine Coon kitty, named Brandy, that I adopted from the shelter over 3 years ago. I love her so very much. I have a "baby" book all about her. Everything is all about her and the two strays that I have, Ms. Kitty and Blackie. Ms. Kitty is around 6 years old and Blackie just had a "sex-change" at the shelter, for which I am grateful. Thank you, and God Bless you all and our shelter.
